Yacht Club Beach Reopens to Swimming
City Manager John Szerlag has reopened the Yacht Club Beach to swimming after lab results confirmed that there is no blue-green algae present in the water. The Department of Environmental Protection collected samples earlier this week and the water is free from cyanobacteria. The Florida Department of Health also tested the water quality and the water is safe for swimming.
The Yacht Club pool staff will begin collecting general admission fees on Friday, October 19. These fees were temporarily waived while the beach was closed to swimming due to the presence of blue-green algae.
