The mission of the ITS Department is to deliver innovative solutions that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of City government and to provide value-added technology services for its residents and businesses.

IT is seen as an innovative and trusted partner in delivering secure communications and technology solutions that improve employee productivity and service delivery, engage our citizens, and promote business growth.
The ITS Department has five divisions:
- Business Applications is responsible for all the major applications used by the City Departments
- GIS (Geographic Information System) is responsible for developing and supporting the mapping applications
- Information Technology and Communications (ITC) is responsible for systems, storage, data centers, desktop, and the Public Service applications
- Network and Telecom is responsible for Local and Wide Area Networks, Wireless Networks, and Telecommunications
- Security is responsible for the security and integrity of all the City’s systems and data
