Jennifer Nelson-Lastra is a native Texan and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin who has lived in Cape Coral for 16 years.

 

Nelson-Lastra brings a wealth of experience in community leadership, workforce and economic development, business, efficiencies, and retail operations. She has served on various boards, held senior-level management positions, and contributed over two decades of her expertise in sustainability and recycling, with Goodwill Industries. Additionally, she previously served on the Cape Coral City Council, District 4, until 2022.

 

She is currently the Executive Director for Dress for Success Southwest Florida where she leads all programming and fundraising efforts to empower and grow women entering the workforce. She has served on the Pace Center Girls Board for 12 years, past Cape Coral Charter School Governing Board Member, Horizon Council Executive Board Member, Cape Coral Affordable Housing Committee and volunteers for many charities throughout SWFL. She is married and has one daughter plus 3 bonus kids.
