City Manager John Szerlag Promotes Connie Barron to Assistant City Manager

Cape Coral City Manager John Szerlag has promoted Connie Barron to the position of Assistant City Manager. Barron has served as the “Interim” Assistant City Manager since August 2018

“Connie will assist greatly in moving the organization forward,” said Szerlag. “She is a problem-solver and operates at the speed of now. I’m confident her performance will be stellar in the capacity of Assistant City Manager.” 

Barron has served as the City’s Public Affairs Manager for more than 20 years. She is helping spearhead the City’s efforts to develop the Bimini Basin and Seven Islands. She established the City’s CapeTV government access channel in 1999 and supervises the contract for operations and staffing. Prior to coming to Cape Coral, Barron worked in the public information field with the City of Indianapolis and State of Indiana. Barron has a Bachelor’s in Public Affairs and Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University.
